# Comms Center Overview

### <mark style="color:$primary;">Highlights</mark>

* The Comms Center is an "**optional**" AI-driven chat system for interacting with your crew and operations staff. Conversations are open-ended and can cover any subject. Both text and voice input are supported. **Flights can be completed without using the Comm Center if desired.**
* The optional [Multi-Language add-on](https://fs2crew.com/product/fs2crew-generation-ai-language-pack/) enables communication in languages beyond English. Our system allows seamless switching between multiple languages within a single conversation. For example, a conversation could be conducted in half English and half German.
* The system uses rechargeable credits. Each product includes 10,000 free credits provided at the time of purchase. Your balance is displayed in the top-left corner of the app.

### <mark style="color:$primary;">Limits</mark>

* The Comms Center is not for aircraft commands. It is meant for general conversations. Inputs such as "gear down" will not be acted upon — use the main app for crew commands.
* Like all AI systems, responses can sometimes be unpredictable. However, performance and quality continue to improve daily.
* The Comms Center does not currently access aircraft data. For example, if the FO notes a hydraulic leak during the walkaround, this should not be taken literally. Conversations with crew members are AI-generated and primarily ambient.

### <mark style="color:$primary;">Usage</mark>

* Click the chat icon (bottom-right) to open the Comms Center. Select a crew member from the left panel, then type a message and press Send (paper airplane icon).

* To use voice control, press and hold the microphone icon. \
  \
For voice control users, the standard push-to-talk key assignment does not work in the Comms Center. To speak, press and hold the microphone button located to the left of the text entry box within the Comms Center.

* The Comms Center takes up a large portion of the panel. When finished communicating, minimize the Comm Center panel. Do not keep it open all the time.
* The Comms Center can retrieve certain data from MSFS and SimBrief, though aircraft-specific information remains limited. If you have an active SimBrief flight plan, you can ask the FO for NOTAMs and the ATIS for your arrival or destination airport. The FO can also obtain current weather data upon request.

### <mark style="color:$primary;">Setting Personalities and Moods</mark>

* Assign a mood or personality to individual crew members by clicking the emoji, or randomize all crew at once by clicking the cards icon.

* Custom crew images (JPG or PNG) can be uploaded via the Settings panel (gear icon).

### <mark style="color:$primary;">Disabling the Comms Center</mark>

* To prevent the Comms Center from automatically appearing during flight, simply deselect the Comms Center option in the Flight Settings panel.
* Even after disabling this option, the chat icon will remain visible on the main panel. However, the Comms Center will no longer pop up automatically when a crew member tries to start a conversation during flight. If you wish to avoid using credits, simply do not respond to crew member questions—the flight will proceed normally even if you choose not to reply.
